Overview

Workplace and specialty claims that engage multiple legal systems at once

A construction worker falls from scaffolding on a Toronto job site. A delivery driver is rear-ended on the 401 while making rounds. A healthcare worker contracts a serious illness from a needle-stick injury. A baby suffers permanent brain injury from oxygen deprivation during a difficult labour. A patient develops sepsis from a hospital-acquired infection. A survivor of historical abuse decides to come forward after decades. These cases all have one thing in common: they engage multiple legal systems at the same time.

WSIB covers most workplace injuries in Ontario but not all. When third parties are involved — equipment manufacturers, contractors on multi-employer sites, non-employer drivers, property owners — separate tort claims may be available. Medical malpractice cases proceed under their own framework, requiring expert evidence and substantial disbursements. Birth injury cases produce some of the highest damages in Canadian tort law. Sexual assault claims have no limitation period under Ontario law.

VC Lawyers represents Toronto-area clients across these complex specialty areas. The first 30-minute consultation is free, all cases are handled on contingency (no fee unless we recover), and we work in English, Korean, and several other languages. Multi-system claims need lawyers who understand how each system interacts.
