Accessibility Statement
At VC Lawyers, we believe that justice should be within reach for everyone. We are committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and equal opportunity, and we are dedicated to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We do this by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Accessible Communication & Support
We understand that communication is the foundation of a strong lawyer-client relationship. To ensure no detail is lost, we provide:
Multilingual Support: Our team offers counsel in English, French, Korean, Hebrew, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Nepali to assist those with diverse communication needs.
Alternative Formats: Upon request, we will provide or arrange for the provision of accessible formats and communication supports for persons with disabilities.
24/7 Hotline Access: Our emergency line ((416) 661-4529) is always available for those who prefer verbal communication or require urgent assistance.
Physical Accessibility & Mobile Services
We recognize that many of our clients facing Catastrophic Injuries, Spinal Cord Injuries, or Permanent Impairment may face mobility challenges.
Office Accessibility: Both our Toronto (Finch Ave) offices are designed to be accessible to clients using mobility devices.
Home & Hospital Visits: If your injury or disability prevents you from visiting our offices, our legal professionals provide Home and Hospital visits throughout the GTA to ensure you receive support where you are most comfortable.
Website Accessibility
We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of vclawyers.ca to ensure it is usable by everyone, regardless of technology or ability.
Compliance: We strive to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
Digital Tools: Our booking and inquiry forms are designed to be navigable via keyboard and compatible with screen-reading software.
Service Animals & Support Persons
We welcome people with disabilities and their service animals. Service animals are allowed on the parts of our premises that are open to the public. Any person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be allowed to have that person accompany them at all times during their legal consultation.
Notice of Temporary Disruption
In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities for customers with disabilities (such as elevator maintenance at our Toronto office), VC Lawyers will notify clients promptly. This clearly posted notice will include information about the reason for the disruption, its anticipated length of time, and a description of alternative facilities or services, if available.
